The TBM cutter set up in Barberino di Mugello is the largest cutter in Europe.
It remained active until June 2019 and excavated 8km of the tunnel between Barberino and Florence north.
The drill weighs 4,800 tons and is a gem in its genre. During the set-up phase we took care of welding all the elements of the TBM cutter, employing 15 welders for 5 months.
